Gordon W. Poindexter, Jr. graduated from East Carolina University in 1951 and law school at the University of Richmond in 1959. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Alpha Delta and the McNeil Law Society. He was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1959. Mr. Poindexter is a past president of both the Waynesboro and Augusta County Bar Associations. He served with the Marines in World War II and the Korean conflict before retiring with the rank of major.
